Flavoured milk drink (milk mixed product)

German: Milchmischgetränk (Milchmischerzeugnis) Also known as: Milchmischerzeugnis, Erdbeermilch, Vanillemilch

Drink made from milk or dairy products with flavouring ingredients such as cocoa or fruit preparation, which may make up no more than 30%.

Flavoured milk drinks are milk mixed products under food law. They consist mainly of milk or dairy products to which flavouring foods such as cocoa, coffee, fruit preparations or sugar are added. Together these ingredients may make up no more than 30% of the filling quantity.

Typical examples are cocoa or chocolate milk, strawberry and vanilla milk, and ready-to-drink milk-based coffee beverages. Stabilisers are often used to keep solids from settling. Many of these drinks contain a lot of sugar; the amount is shown in the nutrition table.
